3 Unique Life-changing Habits for Students (Researched)

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit- Aristotle

This above quote always confused me, I was like “What the hell man”

Don’t luck affects our success?, all the highly affluent people flaunting “Hard work as their key to success” are just using a tool to fake the secret behind their success.

Maybe I am wrong, Luck does not matter. What do you think? luck matters or Hark work.

Hard work can beat talent as you all have heard growing.

hard work or luck

But what if I tell you — What you have heard is also wrong.

Hard work is not the key to success, nor is Luck.

So, What is the Secret To Success ?

Let’s find out

I am telling you a killer idea that one of my friends gave me a few months ago. he found out this interesting thing called, “The magic workflow”,

He said — “You know Akash, you can be a completely different person in just 1 year”

what you mean — I said in a curious tone.

(To be honest, I was thinking that he was going to tell me some kind of unorthodox and superannuated scam)

But then he showed me this Graph.

The Power of Tiny Gains
graph 1

Look at this interesting graph, showing the massive progress you can make in just 1 year, just think. He sighted in an exciting tone.

I did not understand a bit of the above,

later I analyzed it and found the key benefits which the above graph represents. The secret to success is building great actionable habits that prove for your betterment as you go through life. Good Habits compound overtime with proper routine and plan you can outshine your current scenarios and push yourself towards greatness as shown in the above graph.

Are you curious as well to know further, what this graph actually means? Then let me tell you as we go through the article.

How instant gratification affects society

Now Imagine yourself 6–7 years from now, how you want to visualize yourself as?

instant gratification is the desire of getting things easily and without any delay which is killing the basic human instinct which is — hunting for the things you want. Most people probably don’t take such long term goals, because we don’t construct and train our mind to see the bigger picture, we crave for short-term happiness, i.e — instant gratification, as our brain craves and without knowing the science behind it we treat it something like a happiness provider.

Due to this lack of plan and the structure and a proper habit building overtime is slowly eating your progress in life, short-term happiness will feel right and satisfactory at first but over time as you see the graph below shows the downward spiral of your life.

you just open an app, order food, within minutes you get the dish you want to taste. Things are becoming easy. Work that is needed becoming minimal, but implications are serious.

Happiness also works in the same way, if you can sacrifice little happiness today then you can achieve long-term happiness throughout your life, but most eventually fail to cooperate with their urges.

While, most of you might dream of a great life, and there is nothing wrong with it. But out of 100, only 5 can achieve that kind of lifestyle.

Do you know why?

This has been used by all great people in the past have to achieve what they desired in their life

it is all about the habitsthat make or break a man and this is nothing to do with intelligence and smart because anyone who can’t shape their habits in the right way can accomplish the perfect life.

How Good habits can change your life?

use the 1 % rule ( also known as the power of tiny gains ) explained above in Graph 1 and my friend uses to call it — “The magic workflow”.

No matter what you say, Building good habits will have remarkable effects on your life. As when you start building good habits, slowly it compounds over time. And by the end of just 1 year, you make yourself better than what you were. Hence, habits can change your life by shifting your routine into productivity and compounding the results in the long-term.

The above graph 1 want to convey that

  • Working towards your goal and making yourself 1% better every day, results in a37.78 timesimprovement by the end of 1 year.
  • That means no matter where you are right now in life, stressed out. tired or frustrated you can entirely change your life within 1 year

Now, let’s dive deeper

3 Awesome Life-Changing Habits for students

1. A habit of Free Thinking —

What actually is Free-Thinking?

  • It is Tolerance of Ideas
  • Burden Free Mind
  • neutral and unbiased opinions.
  • The liberation of raw imagination.
  • No limited belief.

Free-Thinking Does not mean

  • Ignoring and disrespecting the rules.
  • Being a counterculture activist.
  • Tarnishing people’s beliefs and ideologies.
  • Burning Flags and opposition.
  • Vandalism.

Believe it or not, most people can’t get it out of the mind the teachings of schools and their parents.

the innate fear of being rejected or being criticized is hanging in their minds.

Free-Thinking is the ability to express your imagination to the highest level without false belief and having an empathetic acceptance towards other people’s opinions and matters.

Without disgracing society and opposing them a freethinker always tries to make this world a better place.

an individual with a free mind does not care to change the world, he accepts the way it is and focuses on what he can change.

Free-thinking is a very useful habit, which involves a set of practices like

  • meditation
  • Journaling
  • Reading and writing

being a human being of great significance starts with a simple habit and this could be the world, you should definitely try it.

2. Spending time in a crowded place for at least 10–15 minutes

A quite unusual habit, right?

Has the rise of mobile phones made us more likely to be isolated and alone in public?

New research from Keith N. Hampton based on observations of thousands of people in public spaces in 1979–1980 and again in 2010, shows that we are in fact less alone, and more together in public.

Spending time in a crowded place for at least 10–15 minutes
Spending time in a crowded place for at least 10–15 minutes

He finds that there has been a substantial decline in the number of people alone in most of the public places examined, that there has been a large increase in the number of women visible in these public spaces.

So, what does it do?

sometimes our mind starts to live in a bubble when we don’t interact with people, it makes its own world and tries to keep himself away from outside interaction.

in other words- it degrades your communication ability.

Not necessarily you have to spend time in the public everyday day.

at least twice a week would be fine.

Without any mobile phones or books, just sit in a public place and look around people.

People who spend more time in public have more diverse relationships. This benefits people individually, through improved chances of getting a good job, their health, and many other measures of well-being, and benefits us all by helping people recognize their common interests and accept their differences.

no matter whether you consider yourself as an introvert or extrovert, it can apply to simply anyone.

3. The power of Inner Talking

This is one of the most underrated habits, perhaps more common yet the most ignored habits on this list. So, when was the last time you talked to yourself all alone?

Can’t remember?

I know what you ate thinking right now, why should I even talk to myself? people, Will call me crazy. Are there any benefits to that?

Of course, there are —

Talking to yourself, it turns out, is a sign of genius.

The smartest people on earth talk to themselves. Look at the inner addresses of the greatest thinkers. Look at poetry! Look at history! Albert Einstein talked to himself. He wasn’t an avid social butterfly when he was growing up, and he preferred to keep to himself.

Einstein.org reports that he “used to repeat his sentences to himself softly.”

So you see, if you ever talked to yourself alone, you are not wired. I would rather call you a genius. Although people who talk to themselves looking at the mirror are actually trying to know themselves in a better know which is vital for a purpose-driven life. Won’t you agree not this ?.

People Who Talk To Themselves Aren’t Crazy, They’re Actually excavating the Geniuses.

To start this beautiful habit in yourself and the change won’t be immediate as usual but in the long term you will have the last smile..these are a boon to you in many ways, once you start applying these in your life.

And hey, do share this with your friends as well, help them the same way my friend did to me. Let, us know your favourite one fro this article. And any suggestion will be appreciated.
